Frequently Asked Questions
We recommend visiting the dentist every six months for a routine check-up and cleaning. Regular visits help maintain your oral health and catch any potential issues early.
Signs of gum disease include red, swollen, or bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, and loose teeth. At The Dental Lounge, we provide comprehensive periodontal care to help prevent and treat gum disease.
If you have a cracked tooth, avoid chewing on that side and schedule an appointment at The Dental Lounge as soon as possible. We’ll assess the damage and recommend the best treatment to restore your tooth. If you are having severe pain, swelling, or see a large piece of the tooth missing, that is a dental emergency and you should be seen as soon as possible.
Signs you may need a root canal include severe tooth pain, sensitivity to hot or cold, and swelling around the affected tooth and can be considered a dental emergency. Schedule a visit at The Dental Lounge for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan, and we will work with you to alleviate your symptoms as quickly as possible.
If you grind your teeth at night, also known as bruxism, we recommend scheduling a consultation. There can be many causes of bruxism, ranging from medications to sleep apnea to stress. The team at The Dental Lounge is dedicated to helping you find the cause and address it when possible, as well as protecting your teeth and relieving pain. No two patients are exactly alike, so fabricating the same type of nightguard for every bruxer doesn't make a lot of sense to us. Give us a call at 910-530-1370 to schedule a visit.
If you have sensitive teeth, we recommend using a toothpaste designed for sensitivity and avoiding acidic foods and drinks. Because there can be many reasons for sensitivity, it's worth a visit to The Dental Lounge to explore the cause and additional treatment options.
